Position summary:
The Project Estimator is responsible for coordinating the complete construction and administrative requirements of the various bid packages; organizing the complexities into a management system that will establish, monitor, and follow-up on each vendor’s compliance; and orchestrating the information flows needed for each component and system to be incorporated into the project—all within the time frames needed by the bid schedule. Strict attention to detail, a profound appreciation for time constraints, and a sober understanding of the dividends reaped through proper documentation all add up to an effective Project Estimator. Duties include:
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
· Analyze drawings, prints, specifications, contracts, RFPs/RFQs and all other construction documents for estimating related activities
· Assemble accurate and well organized estimates and proposals for Hard Bid, Design Build, Negotiated, and Guaranteed Maximum Price Projects according to bid timelines
· Perform all preconstruction, estimating, and bidding functions on commercial construction projects ($500k – $20M)
· Collaborate with clients, engineers, and architects during estimate and/or proposal creation in order to ensure overall accuracy
· Solicit, analyze and evaluate all proposals from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring contract requirements and work scopes are met
· Provide clear, detailed quantity take offs
· Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
· Able to bid hard-bid projects successfully (>20% award ratio)
· Reliable attendance, the ability to pass a drug screening and background check, and the legal ability to drive a motor vehicle are all essential functions of this position
Essential skills and experience:
· Two years’ experience in commercial estimating
· OSHPD Project experience required, VA and Education project experience a plus
· Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
· Proficient in ProCore, BidMail, and BidClerk
· Must possess knowledge and application of construction estimating, cost, project controls, documentation, engineering and construction principles, techniques, materials, applications, and practices
· Understanding of contracts, documents, drawings, and specifications. Ability to use a variety of current take-off systems and instrumentation
· Exceptional communication skills
· Ability to operate independently or as part of a team
· Strong critical thinking, analytical, organizational, and time management skills

Position Summary: Under general supervision, performs troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical, plumbing, carpentry and hardware systems and equipment at the skilled Journeyman level.
Signing Bonus: $500.00 after completion of 90 day probation period.
Position Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe work environment
- Inspect electrical, plumbing, carpentry and hardware systems and equipment to locate trouble and determine need for repairs
- Repair, maintain and install electrical, plumbing, carpentry and hardware systems and equipment
- Select and prepare lists and order materials for the job
- Draw diagrams and sketches and prepare estimates of job costs
- Maintain work records and prepare reports
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Ability to install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, carpentry and hardware systems and equipment at the skilled apprentice-level without outside assistance
- Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and mechanical systems and equipment
- Ability to read, interpret and work from plans, detailed drawings and specifications
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to estimate costs of electrical and mechanical work, coordinate work effort and prepare material lists and order material and equipment for work orders and projects
- Ability to maintain records and prepare reports
- Ability to comprehend and exercise customer skills required to work in a retail environment
- Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position
- Four years experience in the construction trades
- Ability to work overtime
- Ability to travel
